Spanish Word for Country Property
The Spanish word "finca" means country property in English.
Although the word finca is commonly translated into 'farm', it does in fact have several meanings. Finca can also mean large country house or a small rural property. However, it generally refers to a small country property, which is much sought after by the foreign buyer. There are many reasons as to why someone would buy a finca. The peace and quiet would be one of the main reasons, as they are situated away from the hustle and bustle of the coastline. Another reason for buying a finca would be because of that persons love of animals and a finca offers the space. If someone wanted to grow their own fruit and vegetables, a finca would be ideal. However, when buying a finca for this reason, there are many things to take into consideration such as soil type, irrigation etc. The most important deciding factor when buying a finca is the price of land, compared with that of the Costa.
