Churros are fried dough pastry-based snacks. They are sometimes made from potato dough that originated in Spain. The snack gets its name because of its shape, which resembles the horns of the Churro, which is a breed of sheep that is reared in the Spanish grasslands of Castile. There are two types of churros in Spain. One is thin and generally knotted, and the other is long and thick and they are especially popular in Madrid.
